Fact or Folklore?
During the height of maritime trade, the long voyage from England to India was sweltering. The wealthiest travelers booked cabins on the cooler, shaded side of the ship to escape the midday sun: Port Out, Starboard Home. Stamped on tickets as P.O.S.H., this acronym became the defining shorthand for luxury, exclusivity, and the "best seat in the house."
